Elephant Song
There’s an elephant song that most Thai people grew up singing. And it is all about the cuteness of this humongous friend of ours.
But an elephant, or the whole herds of them all, is so much more than that. An icon of a tropical forest, elephants are a barometer of ecological balances. Elephants make trails, their tusks ever unearthing, inadvertently creating water resources for other wildlife. Some big heart they have got!
With the reopening of Thailand’s national parks, some of you might be lucky enough to bump into wild elephants from afar. Make sure to keep your distance, for they do have the right of way.
